Helping Mom With Her Finished Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I was running a little slow. I didn't want to get up but I did. Then I had to get moving to moms. Stopped at Phil's to give him more veggies. Then I went to Dutch Brothers for Chai tea for both mom and me.

When I arrived we worked on getting the table set up for the quilt. Then we cleaned the floor so that there wasn't any dirt. The last thing we needed to do was clean the quilt and have it get dirty again by the floor. We worked on a couple ...

Squaring Up Mom's Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I was running a little late. I was out the door and stopped at Dutch Brothers for Chai tea. Got one for mom and myself.

I love the cup lids! They are so fun to get! The other one I got said something else.

When I arrived at mom's, we headed to the Gathering Place. There we put her quilt out on the 4 tables.

I let Bob know we were there. He came to see it. We had to put 4 tables together to be able to square it up. At first mom wanted to pin ...

An Almost Nothing Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and out the door to moms. She asked me to show up to help with potting a couple plants. I thought she meant the ones outside. We took about 10 mins to do the repotting. So I stayed and chatted with her till about 11 am. Then I dropped the fabric off at Joann's. She's making more pillow cases for us.

Came home around 11:30 am. Then I waited about 40 mins for Bob to call. I wanted to send him some photos of his quilt mom is making for him.

She ...

A Day With Mom from Quilting My Way

Today I was on my way to moms. I had 4 stops before I got there. One was to see Sandy, so I stopped at McD's and got her a coffee. Then I dropped off some books and clips for her. She's getting ready to head to her sisters in Canada. She's also a Canadian. So friendly!

Got to moms and she wasn't ready. We had breakfast before we started. We had to put the quilt in a quarter so we could cut quilt to size. We cut it at 120 square. She's going to ...

Working On The Hawaiian Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I was out the door by 9 am. Stopped at Subway and picked up a sandwich for mom and I to have for lunch. I also brought a  salad. Mom was still working on her breakfast when I arrived. She doesn't really get much for breakfast lately and sometimes she eating her breakfast at noon.  She was all set up when I arrived. We worked on getting the quilt laid right on the 3 tables. This is HUGH!

After we pinned the material down, we started on basting it. Mom was working on the pins in this ...

Day 3 Of Busy! from Quilting My Way

Today was Patrick's day to golf. So I decided to spend the day with mom and get the quilt basting going again. Plus I had my PT at 2 pm.

Heading over to moms, I had a couple texts. One from Phil asking if I wanted some carrot cake - Heck Yea! One from Debbie asking for the list for tomorrow. Then out the door I went. Stopped at Safeway to get some lunch - since mom only has soft food for the next day. I got a seafood salad. Then to Rite Aid for a couple things. Stopped at Phil ...

One Heck Of A Day! from Quilting My Way

This morning both of us were up early. Patrick wasn't going anywhere, but I was. It was time to head out to moms. She had asked me to come over today on Tuesday. I told her I would let her know. I couldn't find another day that would work for me. Ended up going. Even though I needed the day to work on my beading.

I did a few things before heading over there. I got there around 11 am. Mom had a couple things she wanted to do first. I gave her 3 more quilts to work ...

Once that was over ...

Off To Olympia from Quilting My Way

This morning I had to be out the door before 8 am. I wasn't too tired - actually was up and ready to go. I played one of my games first and then out the door I went.

Picked mom up around 8 am. She wasn't ready. She was still working on breakfast and feeding the dog. We then left about 10 mins later to head up to Olympia. I will say people driving today don't care about others on the road. I was having trouble getting over a couple times. I was also have trouble with people ...

On My Feet All Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was out the door by 9 am. My first stop was the church to pick up a quilt. Mom called right before I went into the church. She wanted to know if I was coming today. I told her I would be there after I get the quilt.

Arrived at moms. Delivered all the stuff I loaded into the car for her. Books, fabric and jeans. I unloaded in her garage. Then we went to work on the Hawaiian quilt for Bob. I trimmed the folded yardage for the white fabric. Once that was done, we went ...

What A Day!! from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed to moms. I dropped some apples and blueberries off at Phil's. Stopped and got mom a Chai Tea.

It was good to see her. We ended up working on the Hawaiian quilt that we are doing for Bob. We had to go to the Gathering Place to lay the fabric out to cut it. We are having to sew pieces together, because he wants it to be 120" square. We ended up cutting 3.75 yards to get the length we needed. Mom has enough left over for another quilt if she wants to do ...

Finished Basting from Quilting My Way

This morning we were up early because we were expecting company. The window people came to measure the windows for us. Since they were to be here from 9-11 am, I wanted to be sure I was ready for them. Not that it mattered - Patrick took care of it all.

I went downstairs by 9:30 am. I was playing and basting at the same time. The Hawaiian quilt is now done! I can now get to work on appliqueing it.

I worked on this for about 3 hours. It's now finished and I'm happy to finally get ...

Not Quite Done from Quilting My Way

This morning I really don't know what I was doing. All I do remember is going downstairs around 11 am to work on my Hawaiian quilt.

I decided it would be a lot easier if I used the table downstairs to do the basting.

While I was basting the quilt, we received notice that the bowling alley in Centralia is closing for good. We need to let them know when we will go pick up our stuff out of the lockers. It sucks, but now we will figure out what we are going to do from now on. Got ...

Back To Working On My Hawaiian Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I went to moms while Patrick went golfing.

When I arrived mom wanted to know what I wanted to work on. I told it I didn't really care. She told me she pulled out the Hawaiian quilt that we started when dad was in the hospital before he passed. The fabric was fabric that cost over $100 and he bought it for me. We had it already cut out, just not on the backing.

So we went to the Gathering Place. We put 3 table together so we could lay out the quilt and start pinning it ...
